Scott,<<<Sorry, think it through. Even those brought up on "twitcher games" aren't giving PowerPoint presentations every day. But they may have to report every day: number of mortgages rejected, orders today, hits today. Nobody wants to go to a PowerPoint presentations to see>>>

Most of the people on this thread, the majority of "Expert" talking heads on TV, and multi-$M Stock Analysts do not have a clue what you are talking about. They haven't a clue what most CIO's and major Corporations are going through wrt your excellent post:

But I think you (reasonable) people are fighting a losing battle. Most people think that all this glittzy graphs, multi media excesses, and schockwave bs is already fait acompli.

I have no problem with your reasoning ability, but the trend is not your friend. Herd instinct is very feral and very difficult to overcome.

Just think, with a terrabyte of storage, you could maintain a significant database for every person in the United States. The FBI, IRS, KGB, and Amazon.com wouldn't need any more information than that. If reason prevailed, EMC would be out of business.

Reasoning ability does not sell (compute).

Mary
