Jim,

Most people will do a little research in the PC press before shelling out an extra $1,000 for a computer.

Jim: Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who will by the P4 because of the Mhz, 400 Mhz bus, or the fact that 4 is bigger than 3 (as in P4 vs P3)...

How come the P4 FSB is consistently referred to as (running) 400MHz, while the Athlon FSB is (almost) always referred to as 100MHz?

An apples to apples comparison is somewhat difficult, but 400MHz to 200MHz would be (much) closer.
