it is likely to be a problem more for the W-CDMA crowd because this lumps PCS and cellular together and the essential difference is wavelength.

Thanks for this further explanation (in addition to your post on the moderated thread). I now understand how this could be a potentially meaningful "win" hidden inside an apparent "loss." In fact, QCOM might be silently happy about this ruling, as the total cost of this (being applicable only to certain product sold only in Korea) would be less than the loss from problems with collecting on wCDMA royalties.
