Cinderella Ed,

"I would rather have less income and be able to continue to drink water from my creek out of my hands."

I certainly hope you were simply waxing poetic about your creek water and your hands. Even up in the Sierras or the Cascades I always have my trusty PUR water filtration system in my backpack. G-I-A-R-D-I-A!! What's that spell? What's that spell?***

Assuming you live below 7000 feet, Ed, don't go drinking any creek water at all. Of course if you were just being literary, we'll have to examine your previous posts for more purple prose.

Regards,

Kb

***Giardia lamblia--This tear-drop shaped flagellated protozoan lives in the small intestine and is transmitted primarily when the infective cysts are ingested in water. It is an example of what is known as a Zoonosis, a parasite found in wild animals which can be transmitted to humans. It gained notoriety some years ago when an outbreak occurred in Banff National Park and was termed by the Media as "beaver fever" because the local beavers were thought to be the source of contamination of the water supply.

And: If viable cysts are ingested, Giardia can cause the illness known as giardiasis, an intestinal illness which can cause nausea, anorexia, fever, and severe diarrhea. The symptoms last for several days only and the body can naturally rid itself of the parasite in one to two months. However, for individuals with weakened immune systems the body often cannot rid itself of the parasite without medical treatment.

Im green and glad to be in the dark seems mighty comforting huh?

But gas turbine combined cycle plants are very safe and emit very very low emissions.

So take comfort when your driving for batteries for your flashlights, your cars will enit much more emissions per mbtu than a new CC plant.
