I respectfully disagree. The fact that things have gone so bad, that today's world accepts as a given that politicians have sunk so low is a not a good sign.

It's not that people really want complete honesty, but somewhere between the completely honest fool and the out and out fakes, it is not too much to expect that world leaders land somewhere in the middle. Or at least they give the illusion of such.

People crave the illusion of a compassionate honest leader and they will give their hearts and souls to help such people when they show up. An illusion of honesty is waaaay better than what you got here.

When Clinton said, "I feel your pain", I knew he was faking it, but it sure sounded good didn't it? Here, there is not even a semblance of illusion.
