Hi, Mike - Again, agreed. At the beginning of the dialogue, I suggested that the monopoly being deregulated was composed of two parts: transmission, and switching/addressing. But when you pick up your phone, using HFC, to call Peoria, or to fax Hawaii, or Poland, you will not be bypassing that switching/addressing monopoly, you will be reinforcing it. All roads lead to Rome. Perhaps when we all have FTTH, with XbE and VOIP, the incumbents will be displaced. But I think their plan is to maintain their position of power, at one end of the bridge. Only they will have the capital and resources to provision that 99.999% reliable Last Mile. FWIW:-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I share your opinion of Mike Armstrong. You, justone, and I have watched the contortions of T, and its treatment by the markets, in surprise, to say the least.
