Michael,
Re Christmas lies: I've been wondering what form they would take this year. How can Wall Street convince the herd to buy stocks when it is now obvious to everyone that 1) the internet is a bust, 2) chips and boxes are in a glut, 3) retail sales are down, and 4) a crisis of bad credit is looming?

The answer: "All the bad news is already priced into the stocks."

I'll bet that most Wall Street lies will now be transformed from "The future is so bright we need shades," to "Things aren't so hot, but the bottom is in."
What do you think?
