A friend told me when the Berlin Wall came down. "The conservatives are not going to know how to live without a war to fight". I thought it hyperbole, without the USSR there was no country around that would stage a real fight. Well, it's not Gulf War, or Balkans, or the Grenadians. The conservatives have decided to fight the future. Fight it tooth and nail, no prisoners, scorched earth policy fight. And for what? What is the objective? I think maybe my friend was right, the fight itself is the reason. The only goal of a conservative is to prevent change, a losing battle. TP
