"The problem today is getting folks to step up to the plate and take a swing at it."

Frank- Isn't the problem one of what to attach to the fiber. The equipment is just too expensive and running(trenching) it is too expensive.

As verification of the expensive equipment problem, aren't there a lot of greenfield FTTH projects completed(fiber run), and the fiber remains dark? If I'm wrong can you point me to some residential builds, beyond a trial, where the fiber has been lit?

BTW, I absolutely agree with you. If any company is going to spend billions running fiber end to end, and installing the equipment, they certainly deserve the blessing of the FCC. Who then should also kiss their feet and give them freedom to outright own the pipes with NO questions asked nor any future concessions given. -MikeM(From Florida)
