Enam, I live close to SLC Ut. That write up is a prime example of how people use numbers to lie.

.Organized religions have been touted as providing moral standards for civilized as well as primitive cultures. Whether or not these standards produce tangible results has never been proven. Salt Lake City, Utah is a community whose populace is strongly influenced by the Mormon church (70% of the people who live in Utah are Mormons) However, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City have lower crime rates.

First of all not many mormans live in the city limits of SLC. Most have gone to the suburbs outside of the city limits.

Most homes in SLC have become slumbs. There is not much middle class housing in SLC as compared to say NYC.

People drive to and from their jobs in the city.

Notice how the author states 70% of UT. are mormons.
But when he starts to use numbers to make his point he only uses SLC. crime numbers.

He can`t use the state of UT.`s crime numbers against the state to say NJ. Apples to apples or his numbers would not support his case.

He also neglects to say just what is the % of mormons living in the city limits of SLC.

I would hazard to guess. Most of the people living in the city limits of SLC are not mormons. That`s why the mormons left SLC for the suburbs.
