For those who don't mind living dangerously....

With the chip stocks giving warnings AH (AMD, Dallas Semi, etc.,), tomorrow might not be the day to buy a chip stock. However, would recommend looking at Elantec Semiconductor (ELNT) -- stock is well off of its high of 123 on 11/06/00 and has not recovered much. Current price is $44 with P/E of 53 with EPS growth rate over 100%.

ELNT is a pure play on analog, with no exposure to the PC sector. However, with chip inventory backlog requiring 1 or 2 Q to work itself out, ANY chipmaker may miss earnings in Q1. Even so, with a PEG of .5, this looks cheap to me.
