Elmer,

What was the legal basis for blocking the hand recounts on day three after the election? Hand recounts are specified under FL law. You seem as confused about this as you are about P4 performance.

Every single legal maneuver since the election has gone to Bush's favor. The blocked hand counts, the acceptance of improper absentee ballots, the refusal to correct the butterfly ballots, etc.

It is interesting that Bush's lawyers seem to be superior to Gore's, given that Republicans don't use lawyers as a matter of principle.

elmer - Re: "The question was, what is the legal basis for another rerererecount at this stage?"

The legal basis is a contest of the election in a court proceeding as provided in section 102.168, a law that was passed by the Florida legislature in 1999 -- before the 2000 election.
