I can tell ya, as one who voted in Palm Beach...I didn't see ANY instructions on wiping all the chads off...however I do remember as an absentee voter for many years, clearly the instructions were to clear the back of the ballot of chads....any one who blames the voters for not reading the instructions at the booth is just plain wrong...I don't recall seeing any signs at all, and was never reminded by the gal next to the ballot box to clean the back of the ballot..it just didn't happen

The contention that the dimpled chads shouldn't count because there were instructions on the wall to punch out the chad fully flies in the face of what the republicans say about the absentees ballots that were sent in with the wrong number on them. In this case they say it is a hyper-technicality to expect those people to actually follow the instructions which said their request would be invalid if they signed it with the wrong number on it. This is just another example of the Bush supporters doing their 180's.

You obviously don't have all the facts or have intentionally disregarded the facts. First, the absentee ballots submitted by members in the armed forces did not include a postmark overwhich they had no control. Everything was done correctly except the postmark. This is not their fault and they did nothing wrong as did the morons who could not follow instructions, aka democrats.

Second, with respect to the absentee ballots that were mailed out, the printer failed to put the correct ID number on the mailing to the requesters. The requesters did nothing wrong, they were simply made aware of(both democrats and republicans) that their numbers were inadvertently left off the APPLICATION, not the ballot. The correct numbers were then placed on the APPLICATIONS. Those numbers were available to the public to anyone who wished to look and were not social security numbers. Also, the ballots then submitted by real voters were never touched by those who made the corrections. Sour grapes my friend.

Re: "the voter may have rested his stylus in the Gore hole and then decided not to vote for president. Anyone that believes this could have happened more than one in a million times is a moron."

Hmmmm, I believe it was a cop from, I think it was Dade County, who testified to the effect he did this, in the Sauls trial. I know the witness list was whittled down, but if the Cop who testified represents no others in the county- only himself- then, well, how many people voted in Dade county?

Huh, you get my point. What I can't figure is why this should be considered so unusual...or more unusual at all than folks so unaware that they meant to vote but didn't punch through? With exit polls showing so darn many purposeful no votes for president, why should I assume only one in a million would tap on a chad before deciding not to vote? Anyone who thinks he knows the rarity of this just might be a .... .

But, Freedom Works,
