Would probably be taken as bad news and start a semiconductor selloff because right now we're in capitulation mode, i.e., semis are screwed, but there will be another cycle. Better to admit defeat now and move on. I'm actually only about 30% kidding.

Princeton, New Jersey, Dec. 11 (Bloomberg Data) -- Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT US) was maintained ''buy'' by analyst Edward C White Jr at Lehman Brothers. The FY01 estimate was cut to $3.05 from $3.50 per share. The 12- month price target was cut to $90 from $121 per share.
