Your question about Bum Phillips was answered back in January. Earlier this season, under Flutie, the Bills were winning again and were 1 game away from first place in their division. Then Johnson became healthy again and the season was history.

Some coaches at times let their ego and arrogance get in the way of a logical decision. Bill's offence in the 1st half totalled 65 yards. Rather than admitting that his offence was sputtering and that he may have made a wrong decision, Phillips stubbornly kept Johnson in game.

You would think surely with playoff hopes on the line the Bills would of started Flutie in the second half. Especially considering how ugly the first half was by both teams.

Also I'm not sure if you picked up on this but I remember we discussed it once before, Flutie's record is 20 wins, 9 losses. Johnson was 8 wins, 9 losses so he did have a pretty good winning record. Another good reason to question Wade's decision.

Wade seems to experience hesitation in pulling Johnson for Flutie. I was listening on the radio and it sounded like you said; a mental breakdown on Johnson's part. It sounded like Flutie gave them a spark but it was too little, too late.

Ok let me try to get back at or near .500 on the year.

This week:

Pittsburgh + 1 1/2 at home against Washington
Chicago + 6 1/2 at San Francisco
