What a hoot. Reminds me of the seemingly illogical outcomes that come into play with DSL. For example, those who live closest to the central office received lower-speed ADSL services, first. They wont get VDSL anytime soon. Those living outside the ADSL range (beyond so many thousand feet) are fed by remote DSLAMs, which very often support Fiber to the Curb/Neighborhood, which can support higher-speed DSLs, including VDSL. That is, if the telco has a mind to support it.
