Intel Internet Media Services Announces Solution Provider Program SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2000-- Intel®Internet Media Services today announced a new program that will allow it to provide customers with an enhanced set of technologies, capabilities and features for streaming audio and video over the Internet. The new Intel Solution Provider Program brings together industry-leading companies that work with Intel Internet Media Services to provide value-added services, including encoding, ad insertion, indexing, networking, production, and other important solutions. These value-added services, coupled with Intel's state-of-the-art content distribution network, will allow Intel to offer customers complete end-to-end solutions for streaming their content. Initial U.S. solution providers in the program include Digital Planet, Excalibur Technologies Corporation, Loudeye Technologies, Inc., Media 100, MediaOnDemand.com, PlaceWare, and other companies. European providers include Convergent, FibroTelecom Interactive and Rivercast. Excalibur's participation in the Solution Provider Program will be continued by Convera, a new company being formed by Intel and Excalibur. The transactions necessary to create Convera are subject to Excalibur stockholder approval and other customary closing conditions and are expected to close later this month. ``This new program is a win-win for both Intel and our solution providers,'' said McGregor Agan, director of marketing, Intel Internet Media Services. ``Together we can offer more complete and robust solutions by linking the reliability, quality and scale of our network platform with best-of-breed media services solutions.''
