Covad provides Q4 outlook
--6:46 am - By Tomi Kilgore
Covad Communications (COVD: news, msgs) said fourth-quarter revenue is
expected to be between $60 million and $65 million, below the $66.7 million
recorded in its sequential third quarter. The company added that it would take a
$20 million restructuring charge related to the staff and cost reductions
announced on Nov. 27. Also, the broadband provider said 4 of the 14 troubled
Internet service providers that negatively affected third-quarter revenue have filed
for bankruptcy. For 2001, Covad expects to improve expenses each quarter
coupled with plans to restrict residential orders to higher-margin installations,
followed by plans for small business lines to take a greater percentage of newly
installed lines. "In comparison with prior analyst expectations, we expect to
spend approximately $200 million less in cash in 2001 as a result of our modified
plan," said Chuck McMinn, Covad's chairman.

Hi M2. Early??? I am up at 5:45 every morning!! Well, the NAS did leave a few gaps on the way up, so I suppose a pullback would be in order. How much of a pullback depends on what the Supremes dish out today.
