Tower raises $300 mln (Quick Logic+Macronix+Israel Corp)

Israeli chip maker Tower Semiconductor (US:TSEM: news, msgs) said on Tuesday it had finished raising the $300 million it needed to build a second chip plant. It said Israel Corp. had agreed to provide $50 million in return for Tower shares to the same value. Memory chip maker Macronix of Taiwan and the U.S.'s Quick Logic (US:QUIK: news, msgs) also invested $75 million and $25 million respectively, Tower said. The company previously raised funds from other U.S. companies, Israeli banks and the Israeli government.
