Most politicians at one point or another become attached to corporate interests. It's inevitable.

The Bush family pattern in this regard is quite stunning. The men show a real propensity to become toadies/functionaries/(potential fall-guys if necessary) for those with real money. It must be genetic. How many of the Bush boys have sons?
