"Empire Strikes Back", was a much better film. The only thing missing (because she was dead) was Luke trying to have sex with his mom.

But "Star Wars" was the first, and is rather impressive to watch even today. I would not deny that "Empire" and "Return" had better special effects, but "Star Wars" was the first of this truly revolutionary series. In that sense, it has to be one of the best movies of all time.

"Phantom Menace" could easily have been one hour longer.
