>>GOP opposes anything progressive for people, instead perferring a narrow track of freedom--you can be nice, do your job, live in your little box of a home and damn well make sure you know what your neighbor is doing--and non-government interference in the markets.<<

Sounds reasonable......

>>Together, with the money-grabbers,<< Do you mean like the con artist on the streets of most large American cities, the people that wouldn't know how to make an honest buck if the opportunity smacked them in the face? Don't think they voted GWB.

>>It's pretty much why the GOP opposes anything progressive for people, << You mean we're opposed to school vouchers, tax cuts and putting SS money somewhere OTHER than the whopping 2% you get from the government? Wrong,it's the the democrats that want the status quo.

Al Gore want's $5/ gallon gas. Yesterday a leading scientist came out with findings that increasing CO2 doesn't cause global warming. Coldest month of November in Denver in 120 years, December on it's way to being the coldest EVER. But, Al will say we have to have $5/gallon gas. Do you know how to get to $5 from here??????? By adding about $3.50 per gallon in taxes! I don't think Dan Rather is driving a Yugo? He doesn't want the lower class to improve, he want's to keep them exactly where they are so that his party has it's stream of voters. They have done zilch to improve the situation for the under privilege. No I don't think it's my party that's not being progressive. You lose that one Party.

Jim

The NRA?

How does that fit into: GOP opposes anything progressive for people, instead perferring a narrow track of freedom

????????????

The NRA is for protecting the 2nd Amendment-- how is that "narrow"?

Together, with the money-grabbers, these factions make up the bulk of the Republican Party. It's pretty much why the GOP
opposes anything progressive for people

Conservatives believe people are able to propose for themselves, that they are not helpless idiots.

, instead perferring a narrow track of freedom--you can be nice, do your job, live in
your little box of a home and damn well make sure you know what your neighbor is doing--and non-government interference in
the markets.

The path is narrow or you violate other's freedoms. We almost bought a round home, but the realtors were unscrupulous. My state (CA and run by the Dems) has 52 pages of firearm laws (10 times the # of the average state and requires registration of many weapons, except for criminals. Well, we don't really want to know what they're doing, it would infringe on their freedoms. Free market economies seem to have proved themselves over the years, especially most recently.
