Of course they have a plan. The remaining workers will be told to strike for higher wages.
They'll get a 10% raise so their union dues will go up 10%. The union coffers will not suffer a shortfall as a result of Oldsmobile closing down. The survivors will make up the difference.

<More good news for liberals. Your stupid union demands have resulted in the shutting down of Oldsmobile. 10% of GM workforce to be let go. <

Very good post!!!! I thought that GM's problems were that they make really CRAPPY cars, that they haven't kept up with either the designs or technologies of their competitors. I was under the impression that GM took five different and distinct car lines and mushed them all together so that there really wasn't any difference between Olds, Chevy, Buick, etc. I was under the impression that the non-union engineers at GM has totally screwed up in designing transmissions that routinely failed, engines that were 10 years behind in design and interior features and looks that were something out of the 1970's.

Thanks for straightening it out for me!!! BTW, how is it that Ford, BMW, Toyota, etc., are successful with the SAME union? Couldn't have been the stupid, retro, blind, moronic, uninventive, greedy, mindless management that GM has had for the last 35 years could it????????????
