Hi, Frank - Thanks for the links; I found the e2e stuff really interesting. The Cisco material was interesting too, in a general sort of way.

To a student of these things, it seemed to be a statement that Cisco can enable a network operator to do things that should be done, anyway.

As different networks get tacked on to each other, one sees a progression of redundant mechanisms for error correction; for instance, hardly a day goes by when there isn't an announcement of some new security-enhancing strategem for wireless.

Tacking that front end onto a national fiber footprint, with another wireless network at the other end, surely bodes for e2e madness: e2e QoS will be a growth industry!
