Srexley, you have your eyes closed as well. I understand it but think it is sad. Most people want the fairest result, that's it. Most Americans want the real winner in the White House. Since many don't like the electoral college anyway, they think that Gore won. It would seem to me that makes a manual recount even more vital to establsih legitimacy and I have not heard one partisan Republican on this thread agree with that! Amazing to me. I am willing to accept Gore or Bush, but I don't think most of you could ever accept Gore. It's kind of scary. You cite Clinton's moral and ethical failings, but ignore nearly a whole administration under Nixon that embarrassed America with partisan law-breaking. It is not as partisan an issue as you imply. It is for YOU, but not for all. The U.S. is not 45% Rep., 45% Dem, and 10% other that always votes along party lines. Plus you say, BUSH never singles out Judges? Not true. he said Scalia was his "Favorite". I heard and saw him say it myself. So you are wrong on that count, too. YOU SAID: "True. The difference between the demos and the repubs is that the demos think it is fair to re-write these laws after the election when their guy will benefit from the NEW laws. I don't care if it is 5-4 (I think it will be 7-2) because it will mean that a little over half of our top court still has a sense of fairness and understands the rule of law (as opposed to the rule of emotion that the dems live by). It will be a good base for us re-vitalized republicans to build on. When I think of Al Gore's contempt for people like Scalia and Thomas and makes me very thankful that GWB will be our president-elect in a few hours. I never have heard GWB single out and condemn any of the members of United States Supreme Court. Seems kind of tacky, particularly with all the crap GWB has gotten for basically dis-agreeing with a horrendous decision by the FL SC."
