Money flow follows the blocks. If u and I are selling, and institutions are buying then money flow will be positive...regardless of stock price. And probably in spite of it. Keep in mind, institutions generally buy on weakness and sell into strength. Therefore, daily money flow is generally the exact opposite of a stock's movement (thus, if a stock is plummeting on heavy volume and money flow is negative -- that's very bad news). Why follow money flow? Because the street believes that institutional shares are stronger than our shares. And, to the extent they like to look at money flow, and institutional interest in general, we probably should too. Let's face it, they move stocks...we don't. jmho
