OK, didn't realize you were still thinking along the lines of that idea from yesterday. It's an interesting idea - and we've tossed around the idea that some dollar devaluation is inevitable to deal with debt. But the fed governors would have to hit the glue bong hard for a fast 30% devaluation to seriously be entertained. They can't manage such a huge shift with precision, and chaos will ensue. The social ramifications of quick bigtime dollar devaluation are one of the feds biggest nightmares, and this fear informs policy.
