Pinkertons to license Big Mouth Bass

Billy the singing fish puts burglars in their plaice

The Queen's favourite singing fish Big Mouth Billy Bass has helped foil a burglary at a Spanish bar.

Thieves fled empy-handed after being disturbed by the electronic fish after they broke into Popeye's bar on the Costa Blanca, which is run by Derek Britten of Leyton, East London.

As the raiders crept into the bar, Billy surprised them with a rendition of Al Green's hit Take Me To The River.

Big Mouth Billy Bass hit the headlines earlier this year when it was revealed that the Queen enjoys singing along to her copy of the toy - while Tony Blair also has one at No. 10.

Mr Britten, 47, told the Daily Star: "The Queen should get rid of her guards and have a load of Billies instead."
