Why would the Chinese hate the Bush family? Bush Sr. served as ambassador to China during the Ford administration and when they had the Tianemen Square massacre he refused to criticize them. Bush Jr. has consistently said that he supports free trade with China and claims that human rights there have been improving.

Hey Charles!!

I have to disagree with the belief that Bush is weak. Any lack of sophistication he may have in foreign policy is easily made up for in Dick Cheney and Colin Powell.

If anything, I think the Chinese are afraid that he will possess more of a backbone on the Taiwan issue than Clinton has shown and will call their bluff with regard to their bluster.

And I look at the fact that W's daddy is very experienced in dealing directly with the Chinese.

Btw, if you have a bit of cash sitting around, you might make a speculative investment in that other stock I've been posting about, MUCP, (since you've honored me by reading my posting profile).. I think the news they had today was rather significant.

Regards,

Ron
