Didn't Gore come out on TV and say that this would be decided by the rule of law?

That being the case, would any reasonable person expect the Republican Party to say, "O.K. Democrats, go argue your cases and we'll sit back and observe quietly".

They chose the battleground. If they lose on that battleground, then they lose.
