zx - I own both Ciena and AVNX - and I plan to hold them both. I have some huge gains in CIEN and I've been tempted to put them in AVNX, but CIEN is just too well positioned for the next year or 2 to warrant any selling IMO. If you're looking to raise capital to buy AVNX and CIEN is your only option its not a bad swap (although a bit more risky). I would hang on to both of them until there is a better indication of AVNX's penetration and Ciena's response. This may be in a year or so when the PowerMux infiltrates the metro. Right now its CoreDirector's day in the sun. FWIW jeremic
