I suspect you have been watching the liberal spin on CNN or MSNBC. It's an old trick to cast doubt when things aren't in your favor or attack the messengers when the message doesn't favor you.

Do you think that any TV station would lie about a thing like the conflict of interest of a US SC judge?? And, as I hear them say in court all the time, no one has denied the story. hence it holds and carries weight, at least in a court of law.

Jim,

re: "I suspect you have been watching the liberal spin on CNN or MSNBC."

Or it could have been the spin in that most liberal on newspapers, the Wall Street Journal.

It's funny that a 5:4 majority in favor of conservative position would mean that the court is split, decision would lack legitimacy. But 5:4 in favor of liberal position would mean that the justices in majority "showed courage". Spin city.
