There's a chart on page 7 of the Dec. 4, 200 Oil and Gas Journal showing the large drop in U.S. Seismic work.
It's from Raymond James.

If rig fleets expand, many E&P companies will run out of inventory of exploration targets in maybe a year or so.

Many seismic crews are overseas.

This also means that the NG shortage could last more than 2 years in the U.S. unless we get cool summers & warm winters, AND a recession and/or rationing. If we don't get the weather and cuts in consumption, we'll be over $5.00 until pipelines come down from Canada and Alaska.
