...is that they are hoping to completely disenfranchise Florida and Gore wins by default. As you know, this has been my suspicion all along, the Gore "nuclear option". If the US SC remands for a recount, and said count drags on past the 18th, then congress would not be able to challenge a Gore electoral victory regardless of the outcome of the count. By putting up at least one slate, the FL Leg has secured congressional review of the matter. If it's an unnecessary act, why are they screaming so loudly? Yes, it's necessary to ensure congressional review.
