Osprey is right about the stop losses though. Sell when you are getting uncomfortable. The time to sell is when you wouldn't buy. But on the way to an outright sell, place a moving stop to protect the profit. Yes you might get filled on a down spike which turns right back up, but my experience is that letting the stop fill will pay 70% of the time. Buying back later at a lower price is very rewarding. Not buying back because the stock keeps going down is cause for a hearty attaboy. Stops are essential to protect yourself because, as you have seen, we are just minnows in this market. If CIBC decides tomorrow that it wants to do a cross at 7.00 and then walk the stock up slowly over the next week while it collects a ton more shares, you can count on the stock going to 7.00.
