There will be no "dimples" of "chads" in the SC decision...

This is an opinion that will be studied for the ages, as with Roe v. Wade or Brown v. Bd. of Education. They are certainly not going to trivialize it with a whole bunch of nonsense about butterflies and hanging chads. I think there are only two reasons for the seeming delay: (1) to try to get beyond 5-4, (2) to perfect the reasoning and writing in an opinion that will forever stand as part of our history.

The decision will be for Bush (no re-counting), and it will be couched only in the loftiest of Constitutional principles, such as equal protection under the law.

I think that implicit in the opinion will be that voting is a privilege that carries commensurate responsibilities, one of the very least of which is that voters must take care to cast properly executed ballots. That is, failure to do so forfeits the right or privilege.
