Andreas, I agree that $1 bil is pretty nice sized miss I believe that MC had hope that the Christmas PC sales would pick-up -- and they still may I believe that MC had hope that the Euro, which had begun to pick-up, would continue to iincrease in value --- this would have helped too I believe that corporations buying of servers has just been put off to approx 2nd qtr next year instead of late 4th qtr this year because of economy, interest rate and profit issues -- this too was a MC hope of not happening but is. All-in-all the consolidation of the 3 things above has caused this shortfall -- 2-3 weeks ago there was hope with some confidence that they wouldn't/mightn't happen --- at this time it was just proper to warn and wait no longer. As well, CPQ has been kicked down unnecessarily on others warning for 2 qtrs - response: warn and get it out of the way. The future -- LOOKING GOOD ! JMHO Michael
