Sorry for repeat but this post was misdirected Republicans oppose funding !!!! Well you sound like a religious fanatic who says this child doesn't need medicine he just needs prayer. Of course there is nothing wrong with the teachers ,the methodology, the curriculum, the lack of discipline, No of course not . It's just we just need more money. MOoey will solve it all. That's the liberal mantra today. We can solve everything if you just give us your money. What ever happened to ideas. It's now always money will solve everything. What don't you rename the party to the "WE NEED MONEY PARTY" BY the way the biggest joke in decades was the Democrat National Convention where there were all these people wildly cheering the public school system when not one person in the crowd had a kid in the public school system Bush sent his kids to public schools Gore didnt !!! Even half the teachers send their kids to private schools. IF they are so poorly paid it shows you how bad the public schools must be. Get your head out of the sand and have an open mind. You have already wasted one generation of children how many before you admit your methodologies are wrong ? Want to make the public school system better then mandate that every politician has to send their kids to public schools

oppose funding adequate to maintain, let alone improve, the quality of our schools. Are you familiar with the phrase "throwing good money after bad"? That's what pouring more money into the public schools is. The amount of money going into them has steadily and greatly increased in the past 40 years. And, yes, it is cause and effect. The bureaucracy has grown and grown and grown and grown as the amount of money has increased. ANd bureaucracy gets in the way of actually accomplishing anything. SO the output has fallen and fallen and... And the unions have been willing accomplices in this. As tey have gained power, the quality of education has fallen. Why should a teacher care if they are doing a verifiably good job if the unions will protect them anyway? You don't improve a bloated bureaucracy by feeding it more. You improve it by by putting it on a diet, firing bureaucrats, and make clear to the small fraction that remains that they are next if things don't change. anti-public education initiatives such as 'school voucher' programs Vouchers appear to be the only hope. I say the state collects education money and gives ALL of it back to you in a voucher. And anti-public education? Yes. Bureaucrats HATE competition. But hypocritically, those same people are spending thousands of dollars a month to insure their own children are getting a safe and superior education- by sending them to private schools. Yes. Private schools that dn't have the bureaucracy. Or the unions.
