It's necessary so we can reflect the portfolios of our growing/changing membership.

I guess my thought is that an index could be a real index, with specific criteria and indefinite holdings. Thus a company only gets kicked off if it is no longer considered a Gorilla or King.

Think of the Dow. It changes from time to time, but there's still one continuous chart going back to the late 1800s.
