I have found that when SI is slow and you try to post a message and you get no response, usually the message has posted but the screen hasn't refreshed. I think it goes to a different part of the program to do that after posting. Anyhow, I suspect this is the source of your multiple posts. I used to have the same problem, have learned to hit stop and back, then go check whether the message actually got posted before reposting. Hope this helps.
