I love gcc. Check out Tom's gcc P4 benchmarks:

Once more Pentium 4 looks rather embarrassing. Even Pentium III is just about able to beat the P4 @ 1.4 GHz in this good old classic Linux kernel compilation. Athlon smokes P4 big time.

Techusatsu et al,

Do you have any knowledge, and especially comments, on how phase shift mask (PSM) and related technologies are likely (or not) to play a meaningful role in the continuing efforts to reduce feature sizes? In particular, Numerical Technologies is one young company in the field (and I own shares of them) of addressing sub-wavelength photolithography. Any comments are appreciated.
