Brad,

Enjoy the steaks. I concede (the election, not very much else). May I prevail on your sense of magnanimity (whats the winner opposite of sore loser?) for one comment on an irony that will haunt us for some time?

As David pointed out, what did Gore in was equal protection objections to this recount, not recounts per se, and the clear legislative (Florida) requirement that the state avail itself of the safe harbor protection of the 12/12 deadline. What this says to me was that Gore hounds were barking up the wrong tree (not that I see a clear way they could have prevailed -- with all those lawyers though, who knows). Please, at least agree that if there were equal protection failings with the final recount, the voting in Florida (and probably throughout much of the country) violated the constitutional equal protection clause as well. Butterfly ballots in Palm Beach, old and badly maintained votamatic machines predominantly in economically disadvantaged precincts, etc. I do believe that if the election as a whole met the criteria required by the court precinct by precinct, Gore would have won big. I also believe there is nothing to be done (except reform our election system from top to bottom).

Bush is my President elect (may we all live and prosper).

Ben

Brad and all,

Time to load up on the whole market. Take a look at VERT, ICGE and CMGI. IMO the B2B is the place to be. I am long IDX right now and I see e-commerce as the best performer in the next few years to come. I am playing IDX as an e-commerce play at this time.

Other tech growth areas. PC sector? No way. Semi's? Very expensive growth area. Telecom? I think rebound.

Anyone other opinions?

Regards and luck to all,

Rob
