But Intel CAN influence whether someone buys a PIV over a celeron, or PIII over an Atlon. Even in a mature market, effective education, advertising and marketing strategies can lead to market share gains.

Agreed, partially. Advertising and marketing will work, but education doesn't. Educated buyers buy Athlons or Durons, but there are not too many of them.
