I think it's safe to say that historically the logical part of the mind was not valued as highly in the East as it has been in the West. Even in the West, it has been placed on the pinnacle (somewhat falsely, imho) only comparatively recently...the last few centuries.

But I don't consider logic and rationality to be exactly the same thing, either, so maybe that also goes to your question.

Personal experience and sincerity is perhaps the weakest argument for the truthfulness of any belief.

I would have said the opposite. If it doesn't seem truthful about its intentions and does align well with my experience, how could I believe it?
