David,

You may be right about the Florida Supreme Court and everything I heard last night also said they couldn't have defined those standards.

As for Miami Dade, Gore had projected 600 votes, they wouldn't have happened, there were only about 5000 votes left to be counted and his net gain was only 125 or so. You also have to remember the first 168 or so he gained from Miami Dade were counted with a liberal standard. Broward, a liberal standard. The votes in those three counties represented the majority of Gore victories and approximately 1/3 of the state of Florida in whole. Gore had still not overcome Bush's lead with those liberal standards and a fair standard would have reduced his gains. Counties Bush had won had yet to be re-counted.

I don't get how anyone (DCBEN, Gore would win BIG?), could determine one side or the other would definitely win. The Democratic Party has convinced everyone Gore would have won and now someone partial to the democrats will want to count these votes their way. I believed Bush would still win with a re-count and called for it day 1 with standards. Also, I heard last night that a Federal court ordered some 600 military ballots be counted and 68% were going to Bush, that could add another 200 or so to his 930 count.

I'm sure someone will manipulate the numbers in their favor and will jeopardize this country for years to come. The only bright side is that everyone should be improving their voting technology very soon to maintain the integrity of future elections.

Hopefully the presumed end to this will help the market and IDX, that remains to be seen. I appreciate your intelligent thoughts and don't approve of the vulgarities I've read from others either. Take care.
