You are a schmuck if you believe that -- this was a 5-4 decision, not a 7-2 decision -- you are smoking that voodoo GOP loco-weed if you buy Jim Baker's self-serving spin on this decision. And I would urge you to actually read the four dissents to appreciate just how wrong that spoin is. The 2 justices who agreed that equal protection issues were raised and that all ballots should be reviewed under a single standard vehemently disagreed that there was no time to remedy the problem and continue and complete the recount -- they blistered the majority for how it handled the remand and shut down the recount, both in the stay and in the ultimate decision -- in two of the most scathing dissents I have ever read.

You won the decision -- no need to exagerate what it says.

Try again - the two judges who saw equal protection issues were Souter and Breyer, not Stevens and Ginsburg. Only three judges joined the right wing bloc (themselves). The 6 others did not accept the right wing view of this case, though 2 of the 6 thought that there was no remedy for the problem they saw with the FSC's opinion.

The other 4 (2 of whom are GOP appointees, one of whom was Dubya's daddy) wrote scathing dissents. If you right wingers wnat to say this was a 7-2 opinion, be my guest, but reality is still reality - something you guys always seem to have a problem wth.
