The pattern of stocks that “warn” or get downgraded continues to either hold or rally – this occurs as a bear
market is making a bottom. Early in a bear market, they “shoot” stocks that “warn”. EK rose 1-1/2 points
on its second warning of the year.
Conclusion:
After the close, CPQ said it “won’ t meet expectations” and, so far, it isn’ t getting killed – that’ s already
happened since early November. If it doesn’ t buckle, that would be another plus. NASDAQ hit the 3000
supply area we’ ve discussed the past few days and backed off – good!! The market now awaits Gore to
“do the right thing” and concede. The likely market reaction is for traders to do some selling into any
bulge. However, I do not expect any serious selling, as I think NASDAQ has started a good rally phase
that lasts for six-eight weeks at a minimum.
Buy the Semis on any further modest selloff."'
