Hi Grace A. Zaccardi; No, odds and probabilities are different ways of describing the same thing.

The odds of rolling a 1 instead of any other number on a die are exactly 5 to 1 against. Similarly the probability is exactly 1/6. Another example. The odds of having a male baby, given a live birth, are approximately 1 to 1. The probability of such is approximately 1/2.
