The E-Nasdaq futures have always been an integral part of my trading, I receive a free real time feed from the CME of the e-mini naz 100 and SP 500 futures, which basically tracks the normal sized contracts. Many if not most of my exits are predicated on nazdaq futures behavior rather than level II quotes. I would prefer separate real time quotes of the contracts traded on the floor, but that costs money.

My point to Rande was lately some of the individual stocks I follow have not been tracking the futures like they did before, i.e., in the good old days I could almost predict what an x amount gap in the futures would equal in several different stocks. It's harder to do that these days.

I agree with you though, the nasdaq futures are very helpful and can give you the few seconds warning critical in allowing you to escape before the herd.
