RE:"I have observed a lot more prejudice up here in the short time I have lived in New England than I did in a decade and a half in Texas."

In what way?

What a lot of people don't realize is that racial (black-white) mixes get along a lot better in the south because they have lived together for hundreds of years and understand each other.
I've noticed that the finger pointers usually come from Western or Northeastern states. When confronted with getting along with other races they seem to no do as well, likely out of ignorance.

GV, <I have observed a lot more prejudice up here in the short time I have lived in New England than I did in a decade and a half in Texas.>

Eh, whaddayaknow anyway? You're white! Even if you're not, you sound white! ;-)

Seriously, I often wonder whether there are some people out there who think that just because they're Democrat, they can't possibly be a racist.
